Box Board

Hi there, Anthea here.

I thought I would share with you a new trend I have been noticing.

Box Board.

I often find myself 'blog hopping' which can be a bad thing, taking away from scrapping time, or it can be refreshing. It was while blog hopping that I came across a Scrapper that uses a lot of box board instead of cardstock on her layouts, and the effect, well it was amazing!

You can apply a load of texture to your layout by just ripping away at the layers of the board, and then grunge it up with a swipe of your ink pads, and well the possibilities are endless.

So what I have done here is I have used White Acrylic Paintand while it was still wet I sprinkled on some Doodlebug Glitter and yep it sticks, when the paint is dry shake off the excess glitter
Here I have torn away some of the layering of the board and then used Distress Inks to grunge up the board, but also it brings out the texture too.
and here I have used the Rose Moka papers. In keeping with the grunged theme I have punched out circles and then scrunched them up, flattened them out then sanded over the shapes. This will sand out the creases from scrunching it up, adding a distressed look.

And here is the end result

So I hope you are now going to try this out for yourself. You have no excuses not to, I used box board from my Pizza Box (from my pile of Pizza Box's) from my shopping with Scraploot =) you just need to trim it to the size you work with.
