DT Challenge

Hi All, Craig and I just wanted to let you all know that we are blown away with the entries for the DT Challenge. Anthea and Sheree are doing a mighty job, coming up with the challenges, and Challenge #3 is no different.

We can't wait to see your takes on not using any cardstock. Just love some of the comments, hope you have all gotten over the heart pulpitations of not being able to use cardstock. This will really stretch your creative genius! And you never know you might just start a new craze.

So are you thinking outside of the box yet? Are you all wired up yet? Am I making myself clear? Umm, go for it ladies, can't wait.

Design Team Challenge #3

Ok everyone here is your next challenge... You all did a great job of last weeks challenge with Anthea's sketch...dont forget you have till midnight tonight to get them in still...

Now onto challenge #3.... Product challenge:

Ok this challenge is to see you use diffrent producst on a page... For this challenge i want to see the following used on your pages....

* At least 6 buttons

* NO cardstock at all (you can use patterned papers)

* felt of some type (this can be felt lettering, or felt trim or hand cut felt)

* and i also want to see some colouring in.. ( you can colour in with pencil or water colour pencil, crayons etc)

ok not too hard i hope.. here is my sample for this challenge

On this page i have used the new Rusty Pickle black and white papers and have coloured them in with water coloured pencils... great papers these are ...my felt is my title.

Ok so as usual these are due in by Sunday 11.59EST on 1st June...

Classes and more new stuff...

So lots of new stuff just keeps on arriving....

Yeahhhh the very popular Marvy Punches are now back in stock... so dont forget to go and grab yours before they all sell out again.... lots of new designs too... love these punches...

Ok what else is new... where do i start....

New Prima stuff has arrived and its gorgeous.... we have lots and lots of it... the albums are awsome so make sure you check them out in the shop...

Also in is some new American Craft thickers... lots and lots and lots of these....all diffrent fonts and styles... great choice

Ribbon from Carolees Creations just arrived - gorgeous colours

Green Tara flowers now come in an extra large size (about 10cm in diameter) all the colours match the other sizes so great for layering etc..

And dont forget to check out the class schedule... lots of gorgeous classes happening in the next 2 months...

Last Wednesday Sheree taught her Sassafras Lass class... it was alot of fun... 5 girls came which was great for Sheree's first class...here are some pics of the girls hard at work...

Design Team Challenge #2

Week 2 already, there have been some amazing entries in the gallery over the past week, I think I speak for everyone here at Scraploot when I say that I have been blown away with the amazing talent loading in the Gallery and the encouraging comments that are popping up on these pieces of art! well done everyone!!!

OK week 2 in our challenge is to take this sketch that I have designed and turn it into something of your own!! I have made the sketch pretty simple so that it leaves plenty of room for you to show us your flair! What we want to see on your layout this week is
~ Stamping
~ Hand Drawing of some kind
~ Hand Made Embellishment/s

Here is my sample for this challenge, you cant see it clearly here but I have just hand drawn lines around the papers and photos, I have stamped a frog onto card stock and cut him out and I googled an Owl pattern and used him to make my felt owl.


So I want to see your layouts up in the Gallery by Sunday the 25th of May 11.59pm EST.

**I also want to clarify that you are to have only one entry per challenge, this makes it easier when it comes to the judging and fairer on all competitors, feel free to create as many items as you like, but only upload one into the DT Competition Gallery by the set deadline of each challenge. I hope that makes sense, if not then feel free to leave a comment and we will be only more then happy to help you out**

Lots of new products have arrived latley at Scraploot. We have just gotten in the new Making Memories Noteworthy 2 range in... its very yummmy...
Also just arrived to Scraploot is some of the gorgeous stamps from Technique Tuesday.. Great range for all diffrent subjects including a gorgeous zoo range for the little ones...

Mothers Day Sketch Competition

We are extremly excited to bring this competition to you. We were lucky enough to have the talented Becky Fleck from Page Maps design a layout sketch just for Scraploot.

Your challenge is to create a page based on the sketch which you will find here on our blog. Your layout must follow the sketch as acurate as possible. You may use any product but preferably product that is avaiable at Scraploot.

Complete your entries and upload to the Gallery in the Becky Fleck Mothers Day Sketch Competiton section by the closing date of 30th May 2008.

The winner will be announced approximately 1 week after the closing date.

The winner will receive a $100 STASH from Scraploot.

Good luck and we cant wait to see what you come up with based on this sketch..

Design Team Challenge #1

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO EVERYONE

Ok everyone here it is your first challenge... We thought we would start you off with an easy one... And also just to let you know for every challenge that we give you guys we have created samples for them also...(we wanted to play along too lol) So i hope you all have lots of fun over the next 6 weeks... now on to the challenge...

Challenge #1 - Card

Ok for this challenge we want to see you make a card. This card has to be bigger then 4" ( so similar to a normal size card that you would buy) . On this card we would like to see Scallops of some type (they can be punched out as i have done in my sample) and Stamping (this can be any type of stamping you like using inks, paints etc).

And that is it pretty simple hey... here is my sample that i created for this challenge:




DUE Date : Please upload your creations to the gallery (make sure you are signed up for the gallery first) at Scraploot by Sunday 18th May 11:59EST

If you have any problems with the challenges just leave a comment after each challenge and either Sheree or Anthea will be able to help you out asap...

Sheree has this fabulous, quick projct for you...classic, simple but with real impact. You don't need to fill your page for a great looking layout.

10/05/2008 10:30 to 3:30 with Evelyn FORT/CASTLE MINI ALBUM
Learn the technique of making a mini album from Card Stock. The class fee includes 10 sheets of cardstock. You will be able to make the album for either a boy or a girl.

Social Scrap 5:30 to Whenever!

20/05/2008 7pm - 9pm with Michelle EYES
Join Michelle for this 2 hour class, using Scenic Route papers.

22/05/2008 7pm to 9pm with Sheree GORGEOUS BOY
Join Sheree with this fantastic class using Sassafrass Lass papers. We will also have a sample girl layout, so you will be able to choose between themes

24/05/2008 10:30 to 12:30 Class 1 with Evelyn
This morning class will be the first step in today's classes learing the technique of adding dimension and colour to clear embellishments. Class fee includes a kit for 1 butterfly sun catcher.

24/05/2008 1:30 to 3:30 Class 2 with Evelyn
In this class you will create your layout, ready to apply your own hand made clear embellishments. During the class you will finish the last process in the morning technique class, and then you will be able to apply the finished embellishments later on once completely dry.

Here is a sample of what we did in our most recent class this was taught by Sue, making CD folders to hold our precious photos in.. such a great gift idea to give to family and friends.. they all look so diffrent too.

DESIGN TEAM CALL

Scraploot is having some exciting changes coming soon, and we want you to be part of it!! We are launching a new look design team and we need 2 more members to join in and share their talent, SO join us for a 6 week challenge………. the prize??? A 12 month spot on our design team.

Would you like to be part of a dynamic team, do you love to inspire others and be challenged to think outside the square? Well if the answer is yes then why not join in on a 6 week challenge to help Scraploot search for 2 more Design Team members.
The rules are easy, we will set a new task weekly for 6 weeks, we will supply you with a Design Team example and then we want you to work your magic and show us what you can do. Check back on our Blog for our weekly tasks, and upload you gorgeous original pieces into the correct galleries by the due dates.

The first challenge will be posted on Sunday 11th May 2008.

All layouts/cards are to be original pieces not before seen on blogs, online galleries or magazines. All entries are to be in the correct galleries by the set due date. Scraploot will make the judging of the entries and that decision is final. The new design team members are to be exclusive to Scraploot for the 12 month period
